Here are the top three stories today in Dacula:

  1. The City Of Dacula has announced a newly designed playground at Maple Creek Park. It will feature new grading, specialized turf, and improved accessibility. There will be a separate area meant for young toddlers called the Tot Lot. There will also be a physical fitness area for adults. (Press Release Desk )
  2. Dacula's Sydney Spayd has committed to playing with Charleston Southern University. Spayd is a talented fastpitch softball outfielder. She committed to Charleston Southern University's program on Monday and announced her decision through her social media accounts. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
  3. One individual died on Tuesday in an accident on State Route 124. The Gwinnett County Police Department responded to the accident and is currently investigating to determine the accident's cause. There were two vehicles involved in the incident that occurred at Everson Road. (Gwinnett Daily Post)

  • The Gwinnett County Public Library is hosting a free food distribution on Aug. 16 at the Lilburn Branch on Church St. NW. The distribution begins at 10:00 a.m. and lasts until all the supplies are distributed. (Gwinnett County Public Library)
  • The Gwinnett County Public Library reminds the community that the Libby app provides access to thousands of ebooks. To use the app, an individual simply needs to have a Library card. (Gwinnett County Public Library via Instagram)
