🌱 School District Staff Required To Wear Masks + County Jailer Arrest

Here are the top three stories today in Dacula:

1. Gwinnett County Public Schools is now requiring all staff to wear masks in district buildings. The new policy is a result of rising COVID-19 transmission numbers. It is unclear whether or not the policy will extend to the beginning of classes next month. The district will be examining data each week to determine the policy. (AJC)
2. A Gwinnett County Sheriff's Officer jailer has been arrested and terminated. The announcement was made through a press release by the department. Kenneth Sutton is reportedly facing charges of violation of oath of office, conspiracy to commit introduction of contraband, the introduction of contraband, distribution of MDMA, distribution of methamphetamine, and distribution of marijuana. The Investigative Services Unit and Jail Intelligence Unit are handling the investigation. (CBS 46)
3. The Gwinnett County Police Department has reportedly killed a suspect during an incident in Loganville. According to the department, SWAT responded to a roommate dispute after a man began threatening violence with a firearm. Leonard Hollingsworth, 63, threatened his roommate with the gun after the roommate decided to move out. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
