- Gwinnett County's annual Supplier Networking Event is happening on Aug. 18 between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The event will be held at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center on Lawrenceville's Langley Drive. The event is meant as an opportunity for vendors to meet with government agencies to learn about county contracting. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
- Gwinnett County Commissioners have approved some new changes to trash collection. Unincorporated county residents will now be paying $16.38 more per year for trash collection. New accountability measures have been enacted for companies that collect trash. The increased accountability will enforce performance measures to ensure scheduled pickup. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
- A Dacula man died on Chastain Meadows Parkway during a crash on Monday night. Donovan Williams, 19, struck a silver 2019 Honda Insight while traveling north. His Honda Accord was occupied by two other individuals at the time of the incident. The Cobb County Medical Examiner's Office declared Williams dead at the scene. (The Georgia Sun)
