- A Decatur family is offering a $10,000 reward for information regarding a stray bullet that killed Lashunda Heath-Ellison. The incident occurred in early October when a bullet entered through the back of the Decatur home, striking Heath-Ellison in the head while she was sleeping. To claim the reward, the information will need to lead to an arrest. (Yahoo News)
- The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for DeKalb County over the weekend. According to the agency, low relative humidity and dry fuel presented a fire danger in DeKalb County. The agency recommends that county residents continue to take extreme caution while outdoor burning, as well as to check local fire ordinances. (Cobb County Courier)
- A portion of Kensington Road will be temporarily closed starting on Tuesday, Oct. 25. The closures will impact the portion between Camp Road and Memorial Drive. Crews will be working to replace the sewer main network along the road. The closures may persist through Friday, Oct. 28; residents are asked to plan their travel accordingly. (DeKalb County)
