Arrest Made In Double DeKalb County Murder

Russell Rijon McNeal is accused of killing Michael Varnell Wigfall and Robert Sean Collier in unincorporated Decatur last year.

DECATUR, GA -- Police have arrested one man and charged in a double homicide that happened last year in DeKalb County. On Monday, the DeKalb Sheriff’s Office arrested Russell Rijon McNeal, 26, who is accused of shooting and killing both Michael Varnell Wigfall, Jr., and Robert Sean Collier at an Old Lake Drive residence between Dec. 9-10, 2018.

McNeal's arrest warrants did not include a motive for the shootings.

DeKalb deputies, along with the U.S. Marshal’s Office, arrested McNeal at a Lithonia, Georgia, apartment complex, where he was taken into custody without incident.
