DECATUR, GA -- DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond will address the water billing crisis in a special meeting on Thursday, Patch has learned.

DeKalb's water woes have plagued the past two CEO administrations as residents inexplicably experienced enormous surges in their monthly bills and some had their gauges cut off.

The Board of Commissioners meeting will delve into Thurmond's findings, along with a task force of staffers, after he studied data about billing issues and their root causes. Thurmond said during his campaign that the water crisis would be his No. 1 priority.
