Decatur City Commission OKs Truckin' Tuesdays Return In May
Food trucks will return to Legacy Park in Decatur in the city's Truckin' Tuesdays event after being on hold for a year due to COVID-19.
DECATUR, GA β Truckin' Tuesdays is officially coming back to Decatur in May and September after a Decatur City Commission vote Monday, with beer and wine added.
The Legacy Decatur board voted in late March to bring the food truck event back after a yearlong hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and asked Decatur City Commission for a temporary beverage license to sell beer and wine. The commission approved the license unanimously at its Monday night meeting, meaning food trucks will once again start serving up delicious meals at Legacy Park.
Truckin' Tuesdays is set to return from 5-8 p.m. each Tuesday in May, starting May 4, and each Tuesday in September, starting Sept. 7. Participating food trucks have not been named, but beer and wine will be served.

Mayor Patti Garrett said during the Monday meeting there will be "plenty of space for social distancing."
Truckin' Tuesdays first started in 2019, overseen by Legacy Decatur, a nonprofit that manages the former United Methodist Children's Home campus at 500 South Columbia Drive. The proceeds from the Tuesday events this year will go toward funding future park improvements.
