Decatur Entrepreneurs Open Enviro-Friendly Carpet Cleaning Biz

Andre Phinnessee and Andrea Woods are local franchisees in Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning, which has opened a new metro Atlanta location.

DECATUR, GA -- Two local entrepreneurs and longtime college friends are striving to make their neighborhoods a better place. Andre Phinnessee and Andrea Woods are both involved with local non-profits, including MAFDET, Inc. and Douglas Health Futures Foundation, and most recently decided to go into business together. The business, Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning, focuses on water conservation as each job only requires two gallons as opposed to traditional cleaners that use upwards of 50 gallons per job.

Additionally, Oxi Fresh is a partner with Water.org, which provides access to safe drinking water globally. Their new business is designed to serve most of Cobb, Fulton and DeKalb counties.

In addition to Oxi Fresh, Phinnessee works as an industrial engineer and VP of strategic planning and operations for the local non-profit MAFDET Inc. Woods works in banking and recently served as the vice-chair of the Douglas Health Futures Foundation. After meeting at the University of Tennessee, the businesses-minded friends started seriously considering a business venture, eventually deciding on Oxi Fresh.

The Colorado-based franchise has more than 360 locations throughout the United States and Canada. Oxi Fresh has been ranked in Entrepreneur magazine's Franchise 500, featured in Inc. magazine's Inc. 500|5000.
