Decatur Murder Suspect Arrested
Trevor Brinson, accused of killing Joshua Stripling last November, was arrested during an metro Atlanta traffic stop on Wednesday.

DECATUR, GA -- The DeKalb County Sheriffβs Office has made an arrest in the shooting death last year of Joshua Stripling in Decatur. Authorities issued a felony murder warrant on Jan. 23, 2019, for Decatur resident Trevor Brinson, 30.
Brinson was initially arrested on an aggravated assault charge on Oct. 31, 2018 after he allegedly shot Stripling multiple times following an argument that reports say may have been drug-related. The incident took place at a residence on Lehigh Boulevard in Decatur.
Brinson was out of custody on bond when Stripling died as a result of the gunshot wounds and a subsequent warrant was issued with the updated charge of felony murder.

On Wednesday, the DeKalb County Sheriffβs Office Fugitive Unit located and arrested Brinson during a traffic stop in Jonesboro, Georgia, with the assistance of Jonesboro and Clayton County police departments.
Brinson was taken into custody and transported to the DeKalb County jail.
