Decatur Scores High In Niche.com 2017 Elementary School Rankings

Fifth Avenue Elementary School comes in at No. 1, followed by New Glennwood Elementary. City takes 6 out of 10 spots.

DECATUR, GA -- Six out of the top 10 elementary schools in Niche.com's list of Georgia's Best Public Elementary Schools hail from Decatur, including No. 1: Fifth Avenue Elementary School.

The 2017 rankings, which were released recently, are compiled from data taken from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Department of Education and the FBI. Nich.com also analyzes reviews from millions of parent and students.

Decatur schools crushed in the rankings, sweeping the top four out of five spots and six of the top 10. New Glennwood Elementary came in at No 2. Oakhurst Elementary ranked No. 3, Winnona Park came in fifth and Clairmont Elementary was No. 6.

Other metro Atlanta cities with schools that ranked high include Smyrna and Suwanee.
