DeKalb CEO Announces Evening State Of The County Address

DECATUR, GA – DeKalb CEO Michael Thurmond will deliver an evening State of the County Address on Tuesday, April 4, his office announced Wednesday.

Thurmond, who has spent recent days shepherding Operation Clean Sweep, a countywide effort effort to beautify blighted areas -- plans to address several priorities his administration has identifying after talking with residents and business people.

DeKalb Commissioners approved $2.6 million for Clean Sweep, which will be a year-long initiative.

“I am eager to recap my first 90 days in office with the community and share the upcoming initiatives for the remainder of the year,” Thurmond said in a statement. “This is truly an exciting time for the county.”

The evening State of the County Address will take place at 7 p.m., at the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center, located at 3181 Rainbow Dr. in Decatur.

Thurmond’s speech will be live-streamed on www.dekalbcountyga.gov.
