Dekalb County Sheriff Hosts 3rd Annual Volunteer Appreciation Banquet

The banquet will take place on Apr. 20 to honor individuals and organizations that provide voluntary services to the Sheriff's Department.

From Dekalb County Sheriff: DeKalb County Sheriff Jeffrey L. Mann will host his third annual Volunteer Appreciation Banquet on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the DeKalb County Jail on Memorial Drive in Decatur, Georgia.

The event honors the individuals and organizations that provide voluntary services to the sheriff’s headquarters and the DeKalb County Jail each year. Among the honorees are members of the Chaplaincy, the Sheriff’s Office Reserves Unit, and professionals representing agencies conducting recreational, educational and rehabilitative programs for inmates at the DeKalb County Jail.

β€œWithout the continued support of our dedicated volunteers, we would incur an enormous additional expense for inmate programs that we believe make a real difference in inmates’ lives,” says Sheriff Mann. β€œThrough the participation of qualified professionals who understand the impact of their volunteerism, we are able to do more than house people as they await their day in court or serve sentences at the jail. Our volunteers’ services add an experience to being incarcerated that we believe positive outcomes for the entire community.”
