Chick-fil-A to Stay on Emory Campus
Dean of Campus Life Dr. Ajay Nair said the Chick-fil-A location on campus will remain open despite a difference in "values."

administrator said Wednesday the Chick-fil-A location on campus will remain open despite a difference in βvaluesβ between the fast-food chain and the university.
The Georgia-based fast food chain has a location at , the campus food court.
"Recent public statements by Dan Cathy, president of Chick-fil-A, do not reflect Emoryβs values as an institution," Ajay Nair, dean of campus life, wrote in a statement.

"Emory University has a long history of creating access, inclusion, and equity for Emoryβs gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer students, faculty, staff and alumni. Nevertheless, freedom of expression and an open exchange of ideas are also central tenets of the Emory community.
"Emory therefore respects the right of people to express their disagreement with Mr. Cathy by not patronizing Chick-fil-A."
