A Decatur man was killed in a car crash in Perry County on Wednesday. 34-year-old Jack Kennedy was driving south on Arkansas 113 when he lost control during a left-hand curve at around 6:50 p.m. The vehicle went down an embankment, where it rolled over multiple times, during which Kennedy was ejected from his vehicle. Police are still investigating the crash. (Arkansas Online)
  2. A former DeKalb County commissioner has been convicted of extorting a county subcontractor. Sharon Barnes Sutton was convicted on two counts of extortion for the scheme, which was connected to a $1.8 million county contract. Her sentencing will be held on Jan. 6. She could face up to 20 years in prison for her crimes. (Decaturish.com )
