GBI Crime Lab To Perform Autopsy On Baby Found In Cooler
The infant's remains were found Monday in a cooler on the side of a rural Georgia road.

DECATUR, GA -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation's crime lab will perform an autopsy Tuesday on the remains of an infant that were found Sunday along the side of a rural Georgia road. According to the Troup County sheriff’s office, the newborn was found on Boy Scout Road on Sunday. The remains were found in a portable cooler bag.
According to the sheriff’s office, witnesses said the cooler had been on the side of the road for several days and maybe up to a week. The deceased child is white, but the remains have not been identified as male or female.
Photos of the cooler showed the item to be light blue with pictures of watermelon slices and zips at the top, front and sides. Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at (706) 883-1616 or Crime Stoppers at (706) 812-1000.
