Here are the top three stories in Decatur-Avondale Estates today:
- A shooting on Gresham Road has left one man dead and a child injured. On Monday afternoon, police responded to a shooting in the 2000 block where they discovered the two victims. The man died at the hospital, while the child is reported as alert and in stable condition. Police are investigating the incident. (Patch)
- On Monday, DeKalb County launched the Cobbs Creek Sewer Replacement Project. This is part of an ongoing project to renew and improve the watershed system that the county relies on. Roughly 6,449 linear feet of sewer pipe will be replaced by crews. Additionally, workers will be replacing existing manholes throughout DeKalb County. (Press Release Desk)
- On Friday, Oct. 28, The International Community School held its annual United Nations Day Parade and Celebration. Over 450 students participated in the parade, representing more than 60 countries.
