Nice Ride: Electric Scooters Return To Decatur For Spring

Bird Scooters are back in Decatur, with free rides for health care workers and emergency personnel and a discount for low-income riders.

DECATUR, GA β€” Have a little fun in the sun outdoors in Decatur, because electric scooters are back for the spring.

Bird Scooters are back, and available to rent by the minute through the Bird mobile app. The scooters can be used on roads and in bike lanes, and have a maximum speed of 15 miles per hour, according to a city news release.

Scooters must be parked out of the way of pedestrians and never blocking driveways. Riders must be at least 18 years old to access the scooters, and helmets are encouraged on every ride β€” in fact, Bird even offers free helmets for active riders.
