- A DeKalb County firefighter was injured on Friday morning during a house fire in the 4100 block of Liffey Lane. The responding firefighter was attempting to rescue dogs from the home. The home's five residents were able to get out of the home unharmed and are being assisted by the Red Cross. The firefighter is expected to make a full recovery. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
- The City Schools of Decatur School Board will be hosting a virtual meeting on Monday, Oct. 24 at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom. The meeting will be a community conversation focused on the superintendent search. The community is invited to attend and to share feedback with the board. Click to register for the meeting. - The DeKalb County Sheriffβs Office has launched a new project called "Notice of Bond Release." The project is meant to help clear property bond liens on file. The project will notify property owners of the bond release process. The county currently has about 1,047 property bonds with liens that might qualify for the project. (On Common Ground News)
