Scout Restaurant Opens Doors Wednesday in Oakhurst
Eatery owned by Chris Martha to debut this week in Oakhurst.
DECATUR, GA -- Residents waiting for the "really great neighborhood restaurant experience" need to wait no longer, as the much-heralded Scout officially opens its doors Wednesday at 4 p.m.
The restaurant is located in the old McGowan’s building on West Hill Street in Oakhurst.
The eatery's entrance into the Decatur market is formidable as it reunites some titans from Atlanta's restaurant scene, including Chris Martha, who will run the place and Nate Shuman, who will serve as beverage director.

Michael Semancik, who presided over the kitchen at the Georgian Terrace, will be the executive chef.
"I'll be working with local purveyors with whom I have longstanding relationships, like Bobby Britt of Besmaid Garden right here in Decatur," Semancik said in June in statement obtained by Eater. "We will seek out the best ingredients in the region and turn them into food people want to eat. Our goal is to create a really great neighborhood restaurant experience."
