Three English Language Students from DeKalb County Recognized for Outstanding Academic Achievement

The Georgia Department of Education selected students from Cross Keys HS, Stone Mountain HS, and Clarkston HS.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA - The Georgia Department of Education will recognize three students from high schools in the DeKalb County School District as one of Georgia’s English Learners at State Superintendent Richard Wood’s annual β€œExcellence in Achievement” award ceremony on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at the Georgia Department of Education in Atlanta. The β€œStar English Learner” award is given to ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) students who are either valedictorian or salutatorian of their 2016 graduating class.

β€œWe are very proud of this recognition for our diverse students,” said Dr. R. Stephen Green Superintendent of the DeKalb County School District. β€œDiversity is a strength of the District and we celebrate their contributions to our schools.”
