Public Memorial for Craig Sager Set for Tuesday
Longtime sports broadcaster will be remembered at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church.
MARIETTA, GA -- Beloved sports announcer Craig Sager will be memorialized Tuesday at the Mount Bethel United Methodist Church in Marietta. The event is open to the public.
Sager, well known for his colorful suits, was an NBA sideline mainstay whose broadcasting career spanned more than 40 years.
He began his career as a weatherman in Tampa, Florida then rose through the ranks at TNT and CNN, becoming one of Ted Turner's first hires. Sager became known in later years as an NBA sideline reporter, often trading one-offs with the game’s superstars.

He passed away Dec. 15 after a two-year battle with leukemia. His death touched off an emotional outpouring from metro Atlanta fans, sports luminaries and even the president of the United States. Sager was 65.
