Here are the top stories today in East Cobb:

1. Marietta police arrested a suspect after a lengthy standoff on Thursday night. According to authorities, the suspect had barricaded himself in an apartment complex on Roswell Road. While there has not yet been a statement on why the suspect was barricaded, it did warrant the attention of a large number of armed officers and the SWAT team. The suspect was taken into custody without any injuries. (East Cobb News)
2. On Friday morning, commuters began using the Windy Hill-Terrell Mill connector. The new connector is designed to help reduce traffic through East Cobb along Interstate 75 and the Northwest Express Lanes. This four-lane connector comes in at $45.8 million. Drivers can access the commuter on Windy Hill Road by the Spectrum Circle/Interstate North Parkway. (East Cobb News)
3. Ready to take control of your career? The East Cobb Public Library will host an Adult Job Fair today (Saturday, Oct. 15) that could help you get started. Residents over the age of 18 can speak with recruiters from Parkaire Landing, where they can have their resumes professionally reviewed. Attendees can even apply for jobs at the event, so bring along your resume if you're planning to stop by. (Patch)
