- Numerous drop boxes for voters have been set up throughout Cobb County. Residents will be able to drop off their votes between Oct. 17-Nov. 4. Drop-off locations include Cobb Elections Main Office, East Cobb Government Center, North Cobb Senior Center, Smyrna Community Center, and numerous others. - On Nov. 11, The United Methodist Women’s ministry from Mt. Zion United Methodist Church will be holding its Holly Jolly Craft Show. The event at the East Cobb church will include over 50 arts and crafts vendors from all over the area. There will also be a silent auction, door prizes, fresh-baked goods, and opportunities for children to take festive photos with Santa Claus himself. (East Cobb News)
- After weeks of steady decline, gas prices in Georgia are on the rise. The average price of gas throughout the state rose by five cents in just a week. Cobb County's gas prices remain slightly above the state average. Currently, gas prices in Georgia are $3.22 — 17 cents more than it was last year at this time. Despite this, gas prices in the state are still down six cents from last month. (Yahoo News)
- The Cobb County Police Department reports that a Marietta man was killed on Friday during a collision on Cobb Parkway. The 47-year-old man, who has not been identified, crashed his car into a truck. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The truck driver was uninjured in the incident.
