GAINESVILLE, GA — A pedestrian was killed in a train crash Tuesday morning in Gainesville, police said.

Police notified the public around 8 a.m. of the collision at Athens Street and Purina Drive, where an Amtrak train hit a person on the tracks.

The roadway had reopened as of 9:45 a.m., according to police.
