Boston Elementary School has earned national digital citizenship recognition!

The school has been awarded Common Sense School certification by the national nonprofit organization Common Sense. Β Schools earn this designation by demonstrating their commitment to preparing students to think critically and use technology responsibly to learn, create, and participate, while also preparing them for the perils that exist in the online realm, such as loss of privacy, cyberbullying and plagiarism.Β
Principal Valerie Lowery praised media specialist Jennifer Martin for her work, which earned this recognition, to teach students skills related to internet safety, protecting personal privacy, media literary and balance and managing online reputation and relationships.

The school uses Common Sense Educationβs research-based resources to teach students digital citizenship. Β
