On October 9th, from 10:15 – 1:45, the Rossville Public Library will be hosting a Community Scan Day. Appointments should be made ahead of time by calling 706-866-1368, although walk-ins are welcome. You should bring a flash drive to hold the scans you receive that day. If you don’t have one, we will have some available for purchase for $5. Due to copyright laws, we can only scan original documents. We will be able to scan items up to 12″ x 17″.
Is October 9th not a good day? Call the library and we will see if we can meet with you during the week of October 12th to complete your scanning.
Why is scanning so important?
Why is scanning so important?
Photos, recipe cards, scrapbooks — these are all wonderful memories to pass on to future generations. But generally there’s only one copy, and many who want to inherit. Scanning not only allows you to give beautifully detailed copies to every family member, but it also preserves your memorabilia at its current age. Time will continue to fade and diminish your family photos and letters. It’s up to you to preserve them before its too late!

Our public library is dedicated to preserving our local history. You have the option of donating a virtual copy of your scanned items to the library for us to add to our local history collection. This is completely optional.
