Come Witness History

Can the Chiefs go 25-0 this season?

This is your chance to come out and witness something special at The No.2 Sequoyah Chiefs will attempt to be the first men’s team in county history to complete a perfect regular season schedule. Sequoyah is 24 – 0 this season and a victory Wednesday night at the War Lodge would give them an unprecedented 25th victory on the season against no losses. The night kicks off with a girls varsity contest between the Lady Chiefs and the Rome Lady Wolves at 6 p.m. with the final home game of the regular between the Chiefs and Wolves men’s teams scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 p.m.

Advanced tickets are not being sold, however, judging by the size of the crowd for the last couple of home games, it's probably best you arrive by 6 p.m. and watch both games. The Lady Chiefs are playing better and need as much support as possible to make a run similar to the way they finished last season. Coach Bragg has the ladies program back on the right track and in the thick of the region race, fifth place in the standings out of 13 teams. Their last outing against Rome was not decided until the end of the fourth quarter with Rome pulling out the win by four points.

With student appreciation night allowing all students get into the game for only $1, the numbers in the already packed student section are expect to swell to half the gymnasium, so an early arrival will be the only way to guarantee a good seat.
