The death of Trayvon Martin, a teenager who was shot in Sanford, FL, a month ago, has caused a nationwide stir over what constitutes self defense and can a shooter be prosecuted if they claim self defense.

George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, has confessed to shooting Martin in self defense, according to CNN.
