House Fire Prompts Investigation

Officials are investigating a fire on Martin Nash Road in Lilburn, but they are not releasing many details.

A late morning fire prompted officials to call investigators to the 1300 block of Martin Nash Road in Lilburn.

According to officials, just before noon crews were dispatched to a home on Martin Nash Road, where firefighters "found fire conditions." One resident at the home was treated at the scene and then transported for further assistance.

Due to the "nature of the fire incident and circumstances with the patient, investigators were called to the scene," said Lt. Colin Rhoden, of Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services.

On Saturday afternoon, the home did not appear to be very damaged on the outside, and a neighbor was boarding up windows where fire and smoke had damaged the inside.

The neighbor said that he was kept in his home until about 2:30 p.m., while police and fire crews combed the scene. He didn't know much about his neighbor, or the circumstances of the fire.
