Man Who Committed Suicide on I-575 was from Lilburn
James Alan Woods Jr shot himself along Interstate 575 in Holly Springs on April 14.

A Lilburn man has been identified as the man who publicly shot himself Sunday on Interstate 575.
The man is James Alan Woods Jr, 30, of Lilburn, according to an obituary and Cherokee Tribune (both published today, April 17).
Police said Woods took his own life at the intersection of Interstate 575 and Sixes Road in Holly Springs about 9:30 a.m. April 14.

Woods, who was seen wearing some form of body armor, talked with negotiators from the Cherokee Sheriff's Office and Woodstock Police Department for an hour before taking his own life, according to Patch.
