POLL: Should 'Duck Dynasty' Star Have Been Suspended?
The A&E network suspended family patriarch Phil Robertson over remarks made in an interview with GQ magazine.

βIt seems like, to me, a vaginaβas a manβwould be more desirable than a manβs anus. Thatβs just me. Iβm just thinking: Thereβs more there! Sheβs got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what Iβm saying? But hey, sin: Itβs not logical, my man. Itβs just not logical.β - Phil Robertson, as quoted inΒ GQ Magazine.
Many fans of Robertson's "Duck Dynasty" A&E televisionΒ show think it's not logicalΒ the network has suspended the family patriarch indefinitelyΒ over the remarks made in the GQ interview and are labeling the incident an attack on constitutionally protected freedoms of religion and speech.
In a statement released Wednesday, A&E denounced Robertson's remarks saying,Β "His personal views in no way reflect those of A&E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community."
On Dec. 19, the family released a statement supporting RobertsonΒ which read in part, "We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm."
Fans of the show have also rallied around the star. The "Stand with Phil Robertson" Facebook page now has more than 1.2 million fans and, according to a recent post, a petition to be delivered to A&E on Monday currently has over 200,000 signatures.
"Duck Dynasty" is A&E's most popular showΒ with an audience of 14 million viewers.
