Providence Christian Academy Honors Founding Staff Member Lamar Lussi

Lamar Lussi, director of encouragement at Providence Christian Academy, is being honored for his dedication to the school and the city.

During Friday's basketball game, the long-time staff member who helped found the school in 1991, will be inducted into the schools Hall of Stars. He will be the ninth inductee, according to a press release from the school.

The public is invited to attend to congratulate Lussi, meet his wife of 58 years, and sign a special guest book at a reception in the Elementary School Commons until 6 p.m.

Everyone who attends basketball games will receive a free gift and chance to win a one‐of‐a‐kind Lamar Lussi bobble head, according to a press release from the school. In addition, a life‐size cardboard cutout of Lussi will be available for photo opportunities. 

In the press release, Headmaster Jim Vaught had this to say: "I believe Lamar Lussi embodies the mission and vision of Providence Christian Academy as well as anyone in our history, and there has been no greater supporter of PCA athletics since the school’s founding."

The city of Lilburn issued an official proclamation honoring Lussi, as well.

"It is the pleasure of the city of Lilburn to publicly honor individuals who have substantially contributed to the well being of our city,” Mayor Johnny Crist was quoted as saying. "Mr. Lussi fits our criteria perfectly with the sacrificial service that he has invested in the lives of students and residents of the city."

That proclamation was presented to the school on Nov. 30 and framed for display.
