Schools Donate Food, Household Items to Lilburn Co-op

Several local groups, including the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative, benefit from the canned goods and household items collected at the public schools.

β€œThe generosity of Gwinnett County Public Schools is overwhelming. ItΒ is so gratifying to see the example set by adults and embraced by youngΒ people,” said Ellen Gerstein, executive director of Gwinnett Coalition forΒ Health and Human Services.

The Gwinnett County Public Schools Foundation, working in tandem withΒ the Gwinnett Coalition, assisted 112 Gwinnett County schools andΒ districtwide offices in establishing a countywide food drive. Among theΒ groups that benefitted were theΒ Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative in Grayson;Β Duluth Cooperative; LawrencevilleΒ Cooperative; North Gwinnett Cooperative in Buford; Norcross Cooperative; Lilburn Cooperative; TheΒ Salvation Army; The Quinn House; and Huffman House.
