String of Home Burglaries Reported in Lilburn

Police were called into three residential break-ins near Lester Road and Arcado Road on the same day last month.

Three home burglaries were reported within a mile of one another in Lilburn on the same day last month.

According to Gwinnett County Police reports, the break-ins occurred during the day on June 20 off Cardigan Circle, Lester Road and Rivermeade Drive.

In one of the incidents, the victim told police that someone must have broken into their home since 8 a.m. while she and her family were out working. She arrived at the home at 2:30 p.m. to find the entire home ransacked and her kitchen door smashed in and ripped off the hinges and door frame.

Among the items taken were a $1,400 flat screen television, two laptops, a computer monitor, a cell phone and several expensive rings, totaling to $7,500.

A neighbor told police that he saw a middle-aged black male walking in front of the burglarized house and talking on a cell phone around noon. He didn't see anyone or anything else that looked suspicious.

$3,000 worth of jewelry and two handguns were taken in another burglary. The homeowner of the second incident said she had been gone from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and saw that her front door was ajar when she arrived home. Her home was ransacked, too, and the door to her basement also had been completely kicked off its framing.

In the third incident, the victim said she had wasn't home between 11:10 a.m. to 6:20 p.m. Similar to the other break-ins, the door to her carport was kicked open, but her belongings were not scattered all over the place. The only items she noticed missing were a silver dinner set, worth $300, and a Panasonic Lumix camera. Her jewelry was still there, according to the report.
