Developers Wood Partners LLC has announced plans to build a large apartment tower in Midtown which will provide views of Piedmont Park, the Atlanta Business Chronicle says.

According to the Chronicle, the proposal to build a 22-story, $80 million tower went before the Midtown Development Review Committee last week. The project, tentatively called Alta at the Park, would sit across from the Luxe condominiums at 222 12th St., the Chronicle says.

According to the agenda from the Dec. 9 meeting, Alta at the Park would contain six levels of podium parking underneath the tower. The main entrance will be on 12th, with a secondary entrance on Dickinson Place.

The Chronicle adds that Wood Partners may yet tweak the project, and mentions the developers may change their plans from an apartment tower to a condominium tower in the future. There may also be extra work to better connect 11th and 12th streets and to make the tower fit in to the aesthetic of the neighborhood.
