Atlanta Home Sales Continue Upswing, Prices Increase
Foreclosures have also decreased within the metro area.

A monthly housing report focused on Atlanta home sales reports that the market continues to improve, with fewer foreclosures and growth in home sales and home prices.
Atlanta INtown reports that Southeast Mortgage CEO Cal Haupt’s “Cal-Culator” report for the month of June shows positive trends in the market, including large jumps in the numbers of sales between May and June.
The report states that home sales of all kinds increased by 6.1 percent, the largest month-to-month increase since 2010. Additionally, new home sales increased 19 percent, the larges such increase since 2008.

The median sale price for a single family home in Atlanta in June was $230,000, an increase of 10.6 percent from June of last year.
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, June foreclosures in the 13-county metro Atlanta area decreased to 2,054, a level not seen since 2002.
