According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the insurance giant’s latest purchase was an 0.7 acre plot at 17th, Spring, and West Peachtree streets. The collection of land could be converted by MetLife and Selig Enterprises into a complex meeting the desires of MARTA to build a high-rise residential tower, street-level retail, and a hotel adjacent to the Arts Center station.
Developers are already eyeing the Arts Center area as the new hotbed of activity in Midtown, and MetLife and Selig hope to be on the cutting edge of the new wave, the Chronicle says.
