New Plans for the Atlanta Civic Center Unveiled

A $300 million redevelopment has been proposed for the Midtown complex.

Weingarten Realty has released renderings of its proposed $300 million redevelopment of the Atlanta Civic Center.

The plans were unveiled to an Atlanta City Council committee on Tuesday, reports the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

The Norcross-based company is in negotiations with the city to purchase the 19-acre property, according to Curbed Atlanta, at a price of $30 million.

Plans include demolishing the current building and replacing it with a mixed-use project with 250,000 square feet of office space; 222,000 square feet of retail; 250 condos; more than 300 apartments and townhomes, as well as a park and amphitheater.
