Thanks to Petco for being a Generous Supporter of LifeLine Animal Project, and Meet our Fulton County Pets of the Week
Meet an affectionate girl who aims to please and has a great temperament and a handsome kitty who loves people!
This week, I want to thank Petco for being a generous supporter of LifeLine Animal Project. In March, the Petco Foundation awarded LifeLine $100,000 continue our lifesaving work. LifeLine took over management of DeKalb and Fulton County Animal Services in 2013, and has since increased adoptions at the shelters by 98%. Last year, we cared for 15,559 homeless animals (that’s 43 new animals each day!), and we performed 12,280 low cost or free spay/neuters at our two clinics. The Petco Foundation’s Lifesaving Impact Grant is helping LifeLine save even more homeless animals by providing the critical funding we need to run lifesaving programs.
Petco also helps us in other ways. They house some of our homeless cats in their stores and care for them until their adopted, they allow us to hold weekly adoptions at their stores and they include us in their own adoption events. It’s obvious that Petco’s managers and staff love animals. It shows in the level of care they provide our cats as well as the friendly and helpful way they interact with our staff.
Thank you Petco for being an amazing supporter of LifeLine Animal Project!

LifeLine Animal Project’s Fulton County Pets of the Week: Nadine and Jarvis
One dog who you may meet at an “Unleashed by Petco” adoption event is our first Pet of the Week, Nadine. This sweetie is a staff favorite who has a great temperament. According to both staff and volunteers, Nina wants to please people and make them happy more than anything else. Due to her great disposition, Nadine is part of our “Dog for a Day” program, and was recently taken out by a volunteer to walk and play in a creek. Afterwards, she sat politely while the volunteer gave her a bath. Nadine is affectionate, great on a leash and will often look back at the person walking her to make sure she’s doing a good job. Please come meet Nadine and find out why everyone who has met her loves her so much!

If you’re more of a cat person, then our next Pet of the Week may be just the boy for you. Meet Jarvis, a dapper gentleman who has a tuxedo coat and is very affectionate. Jarvis loves to lay on laps and likes to be part of the action. When you sit down, he will stand on his hind legs and stretch up to tap you with his front paw to get your attention. Then, once he is in your lap, Jarvis will settle in for back rubs, ear scratching, and chin scratching. Once he has gotten his fill, he’ll curl up on your lap and sleep contently while you go about whatever it is your doing. If you are looking for a devoted, people oriented, lap cat, Jarvis is the guy for you!
Come meet Nadine and Jarvis today! If you adopt either of them during our August “Tail End of Summer” special, and the use the coupon found here: www.lifelineanimal.org, you’ll pay only $10! This includes their spay/neuter, vaccines and microchip.
To meet Nadine and Jarvis please drop by the shelter, email adoptions@fultonanimalservices.com or call 404-613-0357. To view dogs or cats available for adoption, please visit the shelter at 860 Marietta Blvd NW, Atlanta, 30318 or go to www.fultonanimalservices.com/adopt.
