Burglaries Continue to Plague Walton County

A man and woman were arrested after they were caught climbing a ladder and entering a residence through the bathroom window.

Firearms, Jewelry, televisions and cash were just some of the items reported stolen from Walton County properties during the period June 25 – 27. This report is compiled from the Walton County Sheriff's Office Zone Alerts. 

Zone 1

  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on Sterling Water Drive in Lakeshore Estates. All windows and doors appeared secure.

  • Entering Auto – A vehicle was entered while the windows on a locked vehicle were rolled down about 3 to 4 inches. Firearm accessories were taken from the vehicle. 

Zone 3

  • Damage to Property – A pair of scissors was found stuck in a vehicle’s gas tank located at a mobile home on Magnolia Ridge.
  • Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Hwy. 186. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.

  • Unlocked Vehicle – Keys were locked in a vehicle on Louse Drive in Green Acres subdivision.
  • Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Mountain Creek Church Rd. & Old Athens Hwy. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
  • Theft Report – Batteries were taken from logging equipment located at a residence on Perry Smith Rd. Extra Patrol was requested.
  • Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested for the Mount Vernon Rd. and Old Athens Hwy. area in reference to speeding vehicles. 

Zone 5

  • Theft – Two televisions and a firearm were reported missing from a residence on Grady Smith Rd. A suspicious white male driving a dark SUV was seen in the area.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on Watson Fain Trail in Watson Farms. All windows and doors appeared secure.
  • Burglary Report – A report was made on Ridgewood Drive in reference to an unsecured residence being burglarized.
  • Burglary Report – A report was made on Maple Ridge Drive in Maple Ridge subdivision in reference to an unknown person entering an unlocked sliding glass door and taking several pieces of jewelry and cash.
  • Burglary Attempt – Two subjects, a white male and a white female, were found entering through the bathroom window, with a ladder, at a residence on Etchison Rd. Contact was made with the homeowner who stated they did not have permission to be on the property. The two subjects were arrested. 

Zone 6

  • Criminal Trespass – Several juveniles were found on a property on Crestwood Trail. They were advised to stay off the property.
  • Alarm/Burglary Attempt – After an alarm call, Walton County deputies found pry marks on the back of a mobile home door on Youth Monroe Rd. All windows and doors were found secure.
  • Entering Auto – An unlocked vehicle was entered on Dove Drive. House keys were taken from the vehicle. Extra patrol requested.

Zone 7

  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm Moss Court in Woodlake subdivision. The alarm was cancelled by the alarm company.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on Brandi Lane in Brookview Manor. All windows and doors appeared secure.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on Annslee Circle in Annslee Lake subdivision. All windows and doors appeared secure.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on Planters Place in Fields at Shiloh. All windows and doors appeared secure.
