Car Drove into Barber Shop in Downtown Monroe

Two people being transported to the hospital.

According to the Monroe Fire Department, two people are being transported to the hospital after the driver lost control of a car and drove into Jeff Coats Barber Shop on South Broad Street in Monroe.

Two adults inside the car suffered non-life threatening injuries, Monroe Fire Public Information Officer Lt. Bill Owens said.  Two children were also in the car.

According to Owens, nobody inside the building was injured. It was evacuated and gas and power service had to be turned off as gasoline from the car leaked into the building.
