Car that Crashed in Oconee was Stolen Out of Monroe, Ga.
The car involved in Saturday night's accident near the Oconee Connector had been reported stolen out of Monroe, the Athens Banner-Herald reports. The suspect was arrested in Athens on Monday.

Oconee County deputies Monday arrested a man they say crashed a stolen car near the Oconee Connector and fled the scene late Saturday night. Investigators later learned the BMW that Croffie was driving had been stolen out of Monroe, the Athens Banner-Herald reported.Â
Charleston Jamal Croffie, 21, was taken into custody at Parkview Homes in Athens on Monday afternoon after investigators received a tip that he was there, according to the Athens Banner-Herald.
Around 11:45 p.m. Saturday, the Sheriff's Office issued an alert that a man had fled from a deputy who tried to pull him over for speeding. The car crashed at the intersection of Daniels Bridge and Mars Hill roads and the suspect fled the scene on foot. K-9s were brought in to assist with the search and the Sheriff's Office issued a lookout for Croffie shortly afterward.

In Oconee County, he'll be charged with fleeing, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and other violations, according to the article.
