Clearview Regional in Monroe, Ga. Goes Red in Support of Heart Health
Members of the community were handed goody bags and give access to resources to help educate them on heart health at a Go Red Heart Health Fair at Clearview Regional Medical Center in Monroe, Ga.
Clearview Regional Medical Center Clearview Regional Medical Center and Monroe Junior League teamed up on Friday to bring awareness to Women's Heart Health. At the fair, women were able to get information on eating for a healthy heart, recommended exercise regiments and other resources for heart health.
Emily Russell, director of marketing for Clearview Regional Medical Center said this year it was decided that the health fair was the right way to help raise awareness of heart disease in women and ways to combat it. Last year a Go Red banquet was held to raise funds, but the health fair replaced that event for 2013.
"We just thought this would be more beneficial to the community," Russell said, adding that money raised through previous fundraisers was turned over to Faith in Serving Humanity for its free clinic. The clinic is scheduled to open in Monroe later this month.
