Former Monroe Public Works Director Steve Worley Under Federal Investigation

Following his termination as city of Monroe public works director, Steve Worley, also a member of the Barrow County Board of Commissioners, is under investigation.

According to the Barrow County News, the investigation stems from information uncovered during the internal investigation following Worley's termination from the city of Monroe in January.

The Barrow Journal reports Monroe officials were concluding the internal investigation last week when they received an unexpected inquiry from the FBI’s Atlanta office. Worley's separation papers cited "violation of personnel policies and procedures."
