County Hiring for Position Within Tax Assessor's Department

Job title: Commercial/industrial appraiser
Employer: Walton County government
Job description: Performs professional administrative and technical tasks to apply property appraisal theory and technique in conducting moderately complex to complex property appraisals for residential, commercial, industrial and exempt properties; determines fair market value for all types of real property by utilizing cost, sale comparison and income to reconcile into a single value judgment based on sound conclusions and generally accepted appraisals principles allowing for statistical testing. Provides information in defense of property valuations at appeal hearings to the board of equalization and Walton County Superior Court as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with course work emphasis in accounting, business, finance, public administration or related field of study and a minimum of three to five years previous experience and/or training that includes real property appraisal, property valuation and personal computer operations. Must possess and maintain valid State of Georgia Appraiser certification up to the Appraiser IV level. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
