Fire North of Monroe, Ga., Saturday Displaces 7
Two of the residents were transported to Clearview Regional Medical Center and treated for smoke inhalation.

A fire at 926 Eugene Drive just north of Monroe on Saturday afternoon displaced seven people, five adults and two teens, according to Craig League, battalion chief for Walton Fire Rescue. In addition, two of them were treated for smoke inhalation and transported to Clearview Regional Medical Center.
"The fire call came in at 5:13 pm," League said. "There was extensive damage to part of the house, but the fire crews stopped the fire before the house was fully involved."
League said the cause of the fire has not been determined and is under investigation by WCFR. Investigators went back out Sunday to determine the cause. He said the five adults and two teens displaced by the fire have been given temporary housing by the Red Cross.
