The Walton County Sheriff's Office later this month will host the first annual Pistol Shoot.
The event, planned for Saturday, Sept. 14 at the range, is sponsored by the local chapters of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club and the Iron Knights Masonic Riders Association of Georgia.
Participants will be divided into four divisions: men's individual, women's individual, junior (16-20), and kids (15 and under).
According to a flyer, shooters must pay a $15 registration fee and bring a handgun, holster, 25 rounds of ammunition, and eye and ear protection. Handguns will be inspected for safety.
The Pistol Shoot will start at 8 a.m. and wrap up with an awards ceremony at 12:30 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to local charities.
