GWA and MAHS Matchups for Friday's Quarterfinals
It's down to the final eight teams in each class of the Georgia High School Football playoffs and both Monroe teams are still in the hunt.
George Walton Academy and Monroe Area High School will be playing in the Georgia High School football playoffs on Friday. Wins last Friday moved both teams into the quarterfinals.
Class AAAA
In Class AAAA action, Monroe Hurricanes (11-1) will be playing at home against South Effingham (8-4). Monroe moved into the quarterfinals after beating Grady 21-20 in OT at Legion Field last week. South Effingham’s final score against Westover was 41 -28.

In Class A (private) action, GWA, (8-3) will face Walker (11-1). GWA Bulldogs moved on after beating Aquinas 38 to 12 last week. Walker’s final score against Athens Academy was 38-12. The Bulldogs travel to Walker for Friday’s quarterfinal game.
