GWA Bulldogs Move On to Next Round in Playoffs
It was two for two for high school football teams from Monroe on Friday. George Walton Bulldogs took down the Fightin' Irish Aquinas Friday after losing to them earlier in the season. The win moves the Dawgs onto the next round in the playoffs.
The George Walton Academy Bulldogs went into Friday's game 7-3 and came out 8-3 and holding on to their place in the playoffs. After losing to the Aquinas by a touchdown in regular season, Maxpreps reports that the GWA team was able to make short work of the Fightin Irish in post season play, emerging from Friday's matchup with a 38 to 12 win.
The Bulldogs face Walker next week as they too move into the semifinals. Teams from Monroe were two for two Friday with Monroe Area also moving on to the semifinals in after beating Grady 21-20 in OT play.
