Man Said He Slipped While Cleaning Gutters and Stabbed Himself

He told police his pocket knife fell when he slipped and he landed on it.

Walton County Sheriff’s Deputies reported a suspicious circumstance after they were called to Clearview Regional Medical Center on March 12, 2013 regarding a stabbing. A man had arrived at the hospital with a stab wound and, according to the WCSO incident report, told hospital staff that he had been stabbed at his girlfriend’s house.

When deputies arrived, however, he said nobody had stabbed him - he accidently stabbed himself. He told the deputies that he was standing on a small ledge cleaning the gutters at his girlfriend’s house when he slipped and fell. His pocket knife fell ahead of him and he landed on it.

The deputies contacted his girlfriend, who told them that when she had arrived home, her boyfriend had a wound on his side. She had bandaged it for him and he then went to bed.
